Welcome to the website of Dr Mark Lewney, winner of NESTA FameLab® and guitar physicist, where you can have your ears blown by rock guitar and your mind blown by Superstring Theory. Mark does amazing maths and physics talk for schools. See Mark’s TV clips, hear his radio appearances, read his press articles and see if he’s appearing near you soon.

Mark has appeared on Radio 4’s Material World as a guitar expert, on BBC's Newsnight as a "physics evangelist" (click WATCH and skip to 4 min 50 s), and on CBBC’s Xchange! as the “Rock Doctor”, being introduced as a cross between Einstein and Jimi Hendrix.

In 2007 Mark presented his guitar physics 3 Minute Wonder on Channel 4.

An extended guitar science lecture (Parts 1, 2 and 3) was recorded by the Cool Acoustics team at Loughborough University, and he also appeared in a BBC Money Programme special on patents and inventions, entitled Britain's Brilliant Ideas Boom, and on the ONE show, both broadcast in November.

Father to 3 year old Woody and newborn baby Billy, Mark now smells faintly of wetwipes and faeces.
